Royal Engineers Rugby League Training Camp, March 2011

Forty years ago, we sold TRACKWAY to the UK Royal Engineers, which are now one of the forty armed forces we supply to worldwide.

Since we began our relationship with the Sappers we have continued to support them with a range of portable aluminium roadways and runways that are designed and manufactured here in Llangefni, North Wales.

More recently, we have extended our support to the regiment on the pitch, as well as on the field, by sponsoring their rugby team that is managed by Major Damian Quinn.

As rugby league fans, watching at least anyway, FAUN TRACKWAY jumped the chance to lend a hand to the team and ensure they were able to buy the kit and equipment to make sure they are a force to be reckoned with.

Getting sponsors on board has been tricky for the Sappers in the past due to them having a lower profile than their counterparts in the Rugby Union that regularly has its matches shown on national TV.

We began our sponsorship last year and have recently renewed it as we are proud to be associated with a sporting group that is so consistently successful.

This summer the lads are heading to sunny St Tropez, a far cry from their usual day job, and to help them on their way we have contributed to the travel expenses.

I'm sure that the Sappers will continue to knock out their competitors this season and I hope that they bring some great results home!
